WWII - Memories From the Past

WW II Memory Box

With a goal of making the history of World War II come alive and have meaning for middle and high school history classes, Pat brings her collection of memorabilia, photos and stories to the classroom; sharing freely the many facets of government, battlefield and home front that impacted this War of All Wars.

The program is based on a multitude of resources; books, magazines, personal interviews, museum visits, and travels to battlefields, cemeteries, and historic sites in Europe and Japan.  A talented storyteller, Pat weaves fact with word pictures to integrate history and personal experiences, revealing the strengths and weaknesses which impacted the outcome of the conflict.  There is no agenda in this program - simply a desire to assist students in understanding the need to remember the lessons learned from this event.

Additional Information:
The program length is usually 50 minutes and includes a 30 minute presentation and a question/answer period.  The program is flexible and can be changed to meet your schedule.

It works best if the visit is scheduled after the students have read about WWII, as they seem to pay closer attention and relate better.
